This Fund is in memory of Professor Geoffrey Rickman, who died in February 2010. A chronic lung disease (Pulmonary Fibrosis) proved too much for dad in the end and, having seen its debilitating effects first-hand, I would like to help the British Lung Foundation by raising as much money as possible. A Fund target of £10,000 may be wildly optimistic, but then again everything about the charity cycle challenge I'm doing in June 2011 - from Land's End to John O'Groats - is too big to comprehend! Geoffrey Rickman was a wonderful man in so many ways and we are fortunate to have many happy memories of him and of our time together. David Rickman
